There were lots of rumors that Kishore and Rafi did not get along. But contrary to this rumor both had maintained excellent relations all along. Rafi used to call Kishore as ‘Dada’ which is normally referred to elders in Bengali language.

Kishore did not like Rafi calling him as ‘Dada’ since Kishore was younger to Rafi by 5 years, but Rafi had lots of respect for him. Moreover, Rafi clarified to Kishore that he always referred to all his Bengali friends as ‘Dada’.Kishore also had lots of respect for Rafi. Kishore always knew he will never be able to match Rafi’s classical numbers.

Before Kishore Kumar started on playback, it was Mohd Rafi who sang for him in movies like Raagini, Baaghi Shehzaada, and Shararat.
